White Noise

White Noise is a collective term for different types of sounds that remind babies of the noises they heard inside the womb. The sound is monotone and tends to make babies feel calm and secure — which is why it’s a perfect trick to help your little one fall asleep!

There are many variations of white noise, but what they all have in common is that all frequencies are at the same level. This means white noise can mimic the sound of, for example, a fan, vacuum cleaner, or hairdryer. These sounds help the nervous system relax while also masking other noises in the environment.

Your baby becomes calm and comforted, but you don’t need to make white noise a permanent part of your child’s routine. Instead, let it be a handy tool you can use whenever your baby needs a little extra help to unwind, settle down, and drift off to sleep.
